Since trying out some of Pai’s skincare I’ve become a little bit obsessed. I’ve been itching to try out more of their products and when I spotted this special edition Look Fantastic X Pai beauty box, I was immediately sold.
The box was (it’s sadly now sold out) amazing value, containing three full size and three travel-sized products for just £45. If you bought all of these separately they’d add up to £125, so that’s a pretty incredible saving!
I’d already been eyeing up the Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil and Echium & Argan Gentle Eye Cream so the box was a no-brainer for me, offering a great value way to try them.
I’ve now tested most of the products in the box, so thought I’d give a little round up of my favourites.
Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil
I will admit I was a little bit apprehensive about trying an oil cleanser. As anyone with oily skin will know – the idea of putting more oil on your face feels counter-intuitive and a little bit terrifying. However, I’ve now been using this every evening for over a month and I love it. I use it as the first step in my double cleansing regime, followed by Ren’s Hot Cloth Cleanser.
What’s so great about it? Well, firstly, it smells incredible – a really uplifting orange-y fragrance. The consistency is fairly thin, so you only need about 2-3 pumps to cover your face. As soon as you start massaging it into your skin you can see your makeup starting to lift away. And once you add some water to your finger tips, it turns a milky consistency and rinses off easily with warm water.
It leaves my face feeling soft, calm and clean. It doesn’t leave any oily residue (although I do follow it with a second cleanse, just to be sure) and – most importantly – it hasn’t caused me any breakouts, which was my main concern before trying it.
Echium & Argan Gentle Eye Cream
I’ve always been a bit inconsistent with eye cream, as I’m never sure how important it actually is. But since starting to notice more fine lines around my eyes, I’m trying to be better at applying it every evening.
I’ve (mainly) been sticking to that resolution since getting this lovely eye cream. It doesn’t feel heavy or oily, but sinks in easily and leaves the delicate skin around my eyes feeling soft and hydrated. As Pai advises, I just pat it lightly along my orbital bone after cleansing in the evening and leave it to sink in.
This is undoubtedly Pai’s best known product, so probably doesn’t need much introduction. Suitable for all skin types, the all-natural rosehip seed and rosehip fruit oil is rich in Omegas which help regenerate skin without causing irritation. According to Pai, it can help with everything from pigmentation and dullness to fine lines and blemishes.
Pai’s organic, bright orange oil is particularly rich, so a little goes a long way. I pat a couple of drops over my skin 2-3 times a week, usually after using a mask or exfoliator, to help nourish and repair my skin.
I’ve definitely seen some improvement in my post-acne hyperpigmentation (AKA red marks left over from healed spots), so will keep using this sparingly.
Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator
I was excited to try out this exfoliator, which was included in a 10ml travel size tube. It was actually recommended to me a few months ago during one of Pai’s free skincare consultations (a great way to get any skincare questions answered or troubleshoot any skin concerns).
Designed to not aggravate sensitive skin, the spherical jojoba beats gently buff away dead skin cells without damaging the skin or causing irritation. I’ve used this a few times now and like how bright my skin looks afterwards, although I do find it tends to make me a little red.
If I had to choose, I’d say Pai’s AHA mask (which was also included in the box in travel size and which I’ve written about before) works better for my blemish-prone skin as it exfoliates while also helping decongest it.
